Time Flies...

Today is the first day of Autumn and I forgot to blog about something important that happened this summer!

In the year 2001 Dallin, Liberty & Jacob were all born about a week apart.
Dallin was born on June 29th, then Liberty came 5 days later on the 4th of July &
Jacob arrived on July 10th!

This summer they all turned eight & were baptized!

She is like her mom & had the first day jitters, but she ended up having a great day!

August 27, 2009

Zack just had to go meet his teacher yesterday...so today was the big day of 1st grade!

Zack has Ms. Avery this year. He was very excited & brave!

Tyler & I are going to miss them!!

At about noon today Tyler was coming down the stairs & said "Mom, do you want food?" Then a few minutes later he asked, "Where Zack go?"

Last Weekend Before SCHOOL...

This summer went WAY too fast!
I'll admit... I'm sad school starts tomorrow!! My kids kind of got cheated out of at least a month of summer fun. We are going from year-round to a traditional schedule, so they didn't get out until July & already have to go back. We are glad to finally be on a traditional schedule...so next year will be better.

We LOVE Rockport...
It was quite the adventure this weekend.... for us & our poor boat!!
To start it off, it was a cold & rainy weekend, but that didn't stop us from having fun!
The kids played on the beach...

John & Zack

Jazzy & Libby are definitely water girls!!

We thought the clouds had passed & ventured out on the lake...

Here's the first crew of boaters...

Sam & Marli & Davey & Adam
We also had some brave swimmers
( I was too cold)

Libby, Jazzy & Zack
My dad dropped us off & went back to camp & we were supposed to call him when we were done. About 20 minutes into our fun it started raining & the wind kicked up...then we went to call, but we didn't bring the phone. We hurried back to the dock thinking we'd have to find shelter & there was our hero... Grandpa! He was already waiting for us at the dock! I didn't swim, but I looked like I had by the time we got back to camp!!
We hung out for the day and roasted hot dogs for dinner.
Then the weather got beautiful & the lake was actually GLASS! Steve was in heaven trying out his new ski. He claims he hasn't seen the lake like that for over 10 years!

Steve getting ready...

He was yelling out with Joy!!

This is one of my favorite photo's....

Libby & Mickey watching Steve Ski.

Then Libby & Zack rode on the tube (they LOVE it!)

They are always putting their thumbs up....telling us to go faster!

Tyler was the flag boy!!

Hangin' out with his best bud Shelly

Then he helped Grandpa drive...at one time he push on the throttle!
Then we enjoyed a nice ride back to the dock....

Grandpa keeping Libby & Zack warm!

My cute mom...trying to stay warm!

Me & My favorite camping, shopping & talking buddy
(AND nanny! My kids adore her so much, that I actually feel sorry for her sometimes!!)

Well, after this wonderful evening of fun...it ended up being NOT so fun!
On our way back to the dock we decided to drive down towards the dam. We were going along, having such a nice time and BAM!! We jerked to a stop...not the sound you want to her on the bottom of your boat! Out of nowhere we were on BOULDERS. It went from 18ft. deep to a half an inch deep in seconds! We were stuck & weren't sure if we had ripped the bottom of the boat & were actually afraid we might start sinking. Luckily we weren't taking on water, but I had to call 911 because we were going to have to be towed in. We were so blessed that nobody got hurt!! Tyler flew from the back seat up to Steve, but didn't get hurt. We were all shaken up though. Then our "guardian" angels came (another boater & his son)! It took a little work, but they pulled us out with their boat & followed us all the way back to the dock! We were so grateful for their kindness!! They were also shocked that those rocks could be that far out from the shoreline. I felt so bad for Steve...he was quite devastated! He has saved so long for a boat & taken such good care of it. You just don't expect something like that to happen. But in the end we are just so grateful everyone was safe! We can fix the boat, but we can't replace each other!! So our boating fun is probably done for this season, but there is always next year!! School begins tomorrow anyways...

Here are a few pictures of our poor boat.
The boat actually looked better than I thought it would...

It scratched the udders & bent the propeller.

There is a gash about 4 ft. long

Luckily it is only about a quarter inch deep...
(This picture actually looks worse than it is.)

Steve will be smiling again in a few weeks when it's all fixed!

Did I mention.... I'M not ready for school to start yet!!!
