October....

Is such a busy month.
We had birthdays, a lot of sickness, a parade, pumpkin carving, Halloween parties & of course the most important part...HaLLoWeeN!!

BIRTHDAYS
My dad's was on the 26th, mine came the 28th & John & Marli's had theirs on the 30th!!
We always celebrate all the birthdays & have the kids dress up in their costumes the Sunday before Halloween.

Happy Birthday DAD!

I can't believe John is 15 this year!

The grandkids

All the little punks getting ready to blast me with the leaves....

and I actually captured an action shot!

I think Steve & the kids get even more excited for my birthday than I do...they are good at surprising me!

I couldn't guess what was in such a big box...

It was filled with lots of little boxes...which were filled with things from around the house.

The last box had an i-pod touch...I didn't know what it was. I guess that's why Steve thinks I need to learn new technology!!

My sister Shelly brought over my favorite pie...Double Lemon Cream!!

Tyler & Zack helped me blow out my candles!

Next came the Halloween Parade...

Tyler waiting for the kids to arrive.

Libby as a "Vampira"
She had missed 5 days of school & this was her first day back. I asked if her class was surprised to see her back at school & she said, "They didn't know who I was until I sat at my desk. They didn't recognize me with black hair."

Zack was a "BAT"

CARVING PUMPKINS

They were able to carve some of the pumpkins we grew in our garden this year.

Grandma & Grandpa Peterson had us over the night before this picture & they taught us a cool trick of drilling holes in the pumpkins. So the kids tried it out again at home.

Karate Kid...

We thought it would be fun to show our kids the movie Karate Kid. I remember loving it when I was young. Well, they are hooked! They just finished the 3rd one today. It is so funny because now Zack is "Daniel Son" and Tyler is "Mr. Miyagi". Even Libby joins in with the reenactments. Tyler even rubs his hands together & makes the kids lay down & he "heals" them! Tyler was saying the night time prayers & he repeats what I tell him to say for the prayer. I said, "help Tyler to get potty trained." He paused for a second & repeated, "Help Mr. Miyagi to get potty trained." We all started laughing during that prayer! It's fun to see your kids enjoy some of the same movies from when you were a kid...brings back memories. Last night we watched Swiss Family Robinson & I think the next one will be E.T. We are starting to enjoy our family movie night!

Here is a picture of all 3 of them from this summer....

One Thing Leads To Another....

So a few weeks ago I got an early birthday/Christmas present.

I LOVE it!
It fits just right in my entryway.

As I kept looking at it, something wasn't right. My railings weren't quite dark enough now.
I was so excited, that I immediately started staining them a walnut color. It was looking really good until I took the tape off & it didn't do it's job...brown stain all over the white rails! Thank goodness this product called "lift off" removed it, but I had to do EVERY rail with a q-tip to get it all off!! I finally finished that & something still wasn't right!

Then as I looked around the room all of my wood furniture seemed too light now.
I was afraid I would ruin it, so I waited a few days. Then I was looking through a Pottery Barn magazine & I was inspired! Steve got me a tarp & the energy came back & I finished three more pieces of furniture, the doorbell cover & a lamp!

Table...now matches the railing.

Hutch...now matches the table & railing!

End table & lamp

Thank goodness I didn't ruin them! I really like how it looks now.
I think the paint fumes are starting to get to me though because I think I'm going to do bathroom & kitchen cabinets next...wish me luck on those ones!!
My house is going to look different all because of ONE piece of new furniture!

And earlier today I was cleaning the kitchen and Tyler says, "Mom you need to take a picture of Me & Mick!" I looked over at them sitting on the chair thinking it would be a cute picture, but kept cleaning. He said it a few more times, so I went to get my camera....Here is my cute Tyler-man & Mickey.

Pretty soon he'll be saying, "Mom, take a picture for the blog!"LOL

"Brothers"

Now that Zack is in school ALL day....Tyler has really been missing him!
A few days ago I walked in the room & this is what I found...

Snuggled up watching cartoons!

Tyler copies everything Zack does!
I'm sure at times it can be annoying for Zack, but he really is sweet with Tyler.
He lets him tag-a-long (most of the time)!!

Time Flies...

Today is the first day of Autumn and I forgot to blog about something important that happened this summer!

In the year 2001 Dallin, Liberty & Jacob were all born about a week apart.
Dallin was born on June 29th, then Liberty came 5 days later on the 4th of July &
Jacob arrived on July 10th!

Dallin, Jacob & Libby

This summer they all turned eight & were baptized!

There are actually four "2001" babies.
The first baby of 2001 was actually Jasmine. She was born in February.

Here are all four of them on their first Christmas!
AND
Here they are at Jacob's baptism in July....

I can't believe they are already eight years old!!
