Kenny Chesney Concert!!

July 23, 2009
at the
Rio Tinto Stadium

I've had my tickets for 5 months!!! The day finally arrived!
Steve & I went early to try to score some backstage passes. We roasted in the 106 degree weather, but weren't the lucky winners! At least we tried & know not to do that again!!
Once we "cooled" down the concert was AWESOME!!

Miranda Lambert & Lady Antebellum opened for the show...I was sad Sugarland didn't make it!
But the at least the most important person showed up....

You gotta love Kenny!!

He puts on such a great show!!

He & his band have a lot of fun!

The crowd loved him!!

I was in heaven!!
Just before he came out Steve & I moved up closer to the front & were able to stay there the rest of the night!!! I love being close to the stage!!

Steve's great to come with me, but he does love Kenny too!!

Someone threw him a University of Utah hat & he put it on for the rest of the show.

He sure looks good in UTAH!!

At the end he always signs a few autographs

I can only hope next time we'll get to meet him & have him sign Steve's guitar!!
As always it was a GREAT show!!

We had tickets to an after party at the Mayan restaurant...it was rumored he was going to show up there. It was a boring party and Kenny didn't end up coming.

The only contest at the party was to win the blue chair....we didn't stay that long.

Me in my old blue chair...

Steve rocking in the blue chair....I know he really wanted to stay until the end to win it! LOL

We had a fun day & Shelly was sweet enough to take our kids for the whole night!
My kids were as excited about the sleepover as I was about Kenny...they even offered to pay her if she'd let them sleepover! Now that's LOVE!!

Big Boy Bed....

Tyler gets to sleep in a "big boy" bed now!

I was kind of sad taking down his crib, but he was very excited!!

As you can see by the smile on his face!!

I had to take a picture of his last nap in his crib...

When he woke up we switched out his crib for a bed!

It was his brother Zack's idea that he didn't need a crib anymore. We'll see how he sleeps tonight!

He's very excited!!
He also informed me yesterday, that he doesn't need diapers anymore. He's going to wear "Lightning McQueen" underwear. He has gone a few times on the toilet, but I'm not sure he's quite ready, but we'll see! My baby is growing up fast!!

Fireworks

We LOVE July!

We enjoyed more fireworks on Saturday night.
We always get a snow cone from the snow shack & enjoy the Draper Days firework show.

Our kids are always excited. This year Tyler was so cute....every time they went off he'd yell, "whoa!"

Steve loves a good snow cone!!

Mud!!

Who needs a pool when you can make mud rivers!!

A week ago we put up our 1,000 gallon pool that we do every year, but it never got used this year.
We woke up the next morning after filling it up & it had popped....making a mudslide all over my patio. All of my wood chips ended up washed away to the lawn! It was not a fun site to see!
So today, they made their own pool in the sand....

They are busy workers!!

Libby's legs actually look tan!!

A few "action" shots!

Zack loves to make a splash!

Zack almost hit me with that mud bomb!!
But our fence took the hit.

They sure had fun...
but were quite the disgusting little creatures when they were all done!!

Zack is all smiles!

Tyler was covered from head to toe & he even had it in his ears!!

He actually hit me that mud clod!!

Well, what started out as a boring day ended up pretty fun. After they had baths we headed to Draper park for an outdoor movie of "Hortin Hears A Who".
You have to "soak" up all the summer fun while it lasts!!

Another Party for Libby!

Since turning eight is a special birthday, Libby got to have a friend party this year too.
She wanted an "American Girl" party .

The cute girls & their dolls...a few girls weren't able to come,
but we found a few replacements!!

John & Josh "crashed" the party.
They didn't come unprepared....
They brought their favorite childhood toys!!
You gotta love Binya-Binya & Steve from Blue's clues!!

Tyler woke up at the end....so here is a picture with all of the "family" group.

BEST FRIENDS!!!
Libby & Jazzy...with Morgan & Megan!!

Our SWEET Liberty is eight!!

Liberty Lee Peterson

Our 4th of July girl is 8!!

It was a special birthday this year because she had her baptism on her birthday!!
Her aunt Sherry took some cute pictures of her in her white dress....

Libby was baptized & confirmed by her dad on
July 4, 2009
It was such a special day! She was baptized at her Grandma & Grandpa Steen's ward.
It really was a great day!! She was SO excited!!

Our family on the special day

A picture with her grandparents

The 4th of July kids....Libby & her cousin Eli

Libby & her BEST friend Jasmine are both 8 now!!

Libby is so lucky to have a great family who love & support her!
After her baptism we had a fun party at our house. She really was spoiled with such nice gifts! She truly was SO excited about everything she got!

She is so happy to have her own scriptures.

Another one of her favorites was from her cousin John...he wrapped it like a guitar & it was a Taylor Swift poster!!

My mom made her a frame with a poem with her name.

Her 4th of July doll.

Her baptism cake.

Tyler didn't need a plate!

He LOVED Libby's birthday cake!!

Then the party continued that night!!

Her traditional cheesecake birthday cake....her shirt said, "miss Liberty"!!

Another tradition...all the cousins with their glow necklaces!

This year grandma gave them all cowboy hats too!It kinda looks like space cowboy!!

Our funny Tyler man!

Libby & Zack

John & Josh
The hat didn't fit John because of his nice Mohawk!!

He dyed it red & white for Libby's birthday!!
I'm not sure who had more fun with the hats the kids or the adults!!

Shelly & Dave

Shane & Denette & Porter

Sherry & Mark
and my favorite....

Sally, Shelly, Dave & Steve
Then came the FIREWORKS!!

Steve & John always put on a great show for us.

They even pulled out the ladder again to make it more "special"!!

Every year they have quite the audience...

Dallin, Porter, Wyatt, Bailey, Jazzy, Libby & Zack

The "Steen" Boys
